Elbow Deep

Pink fish, yellow fish and blue fish,

Still without top or back fins.

Struggling to swim.

While doing one change, the thought came to my mind.

“This has become too stressful.”

I shouted

“Lets just give up, this was a terrible idea.”

Shane said back.

“No, we are already elbow deep. I am determined to figure this out. I didn't spend over 200 dollars to just give up!”

I sign,

Well..

We did lots of research.

This has officially become a full time job.

Water changes every other day.

Feed them!

Shrimp has lots of vitamins and nutrients they need to heal.

So I feed them frozen shrimp everyday.

I drop little bits of shrimp in.

Watch them let the food drop to the ground and only grab a few bits that have fallen.

I learned later on another lesson.

I’m giving them too much food at once.

Well,

Everyday I try to coach them to swim and eat.

But no luck yet.

Schedules,

We learned a light schedule was important.

Too much light stresses them out.

Never thought fish sleep too.

We thought it was a good night light, but we learned it only caused them stress.

We learned of course from chat GPT,

6 to 8 hours of lights on then lights off til the morning.

We say goodnight and shut the light off, then goodmorning while turning them on.

Well, fish don’t sleep but rest and it's important for their health to have a schedule.

So we continue this routine for multiple weeks.

Hoping for this to be all worth it.

For now we have, 2 blue fish, 1 pink, 1 yellow, 3 white and 1 frog
