I couldn’t believe this.

“How do these fish not have fins?” I thought.

I picked up my phone.

Opened chatgpt.

Typed in search.

“Why are my fish losing fins?”

The answer I got was,

The most likely  reason would be Fin Rot!

The more I read, the more I learned.

Fin rot is an infection that eats the fins slowly.

We can not lose another fish, especially Yellow Fish.

He's the only yellow.

I would not be able to hide this from Lucas!

I then typed in search,

“How do I save my fish's lives, with fin rot?”

The answer I got was,

Good water quality.

Feed high quality food.

Frozen shrimp or blood worms

I thought to myself

“You got to be kidding me no way I’m touching worms!”

The most important thing I learned.

They can get better.

“That was relieving.” I thought

They can still grow their fins back.

I could take a deep breath.

Okay.

Now to get to work!

Water change.

I grabbed,

The aquarium vacuum.

The bucket

Took the tank cover off.

I took a deep breath.

I then lowered the vacuum into the water.

I then watched the water flow through the tube into the bucket.

I needed to watch closely.

I had to keep the vacuum away from the fish.

This had become a stressful task of fish keeping.

Dodging the fish while they dart around the tank.

I’m sure they were screaming,

“Watch out the giant is bringing in the tube again.”

The worst part is,

I have to put my hand in the tank even a little.

“Gross.” I think

But..

The filter doesn't do it all.

I had to get it done.

We loved these fish too much to let them all die.

I finally got a quarter of the water sucked into the bucket.

I dumped the water,

Replace the water with new tap water.

I added a water conditioner.

We then,

Say goodbye to the fish because we got to go get food.

We let the fish know,

“We will be back with some yummy food!”

We got in the car and headed to PetSmart.

We found a freezer full of aquarium frozen foods.

Who would have known fish have a buffet to choose from.

So we decided on frozen shrimp.

The thought of touching even frozen chopped up worms makes me feel sick.

I could never get myself to touching worms in any form.

Now, all we could do is hope it helps.
